So last night I went to see Jack Penate as my SU. I've seen him before and he still manages to impress me. He's really good live.

I've started my research brief on Human and Space. It's quite interesting and I'm getting back to drawing alot, which im really enjoying. I've missed drawing over summer. I don't know why i didn't draw more but I guess I was just busy alot of the time. To be honest I struggle to think of things to draw when I draw for the sake of It.

That can be really annoying.

Last night was my freshers ball, and Zane Lowe DJ'd along with his support P Money, who I must say was just as good if not better. I have no complaints though. The night was amazing even if it wasn't worth 16 quid. Eh Well.

As well as Mr Lowe, Stavros Flately Also performed, and i must say, they got the crowd pumped. Not to mention I was lucky enough to catch there wig. Hilarious!

Unfortunately, last night was the night I decided to experiment with the satanic combination of vodka and red bull. BIG MISTAKE! And so, I got all of 3 hours sleep. So today I've been stuggling to keep my eyes open and when in the cinema about an hour ago, I almost fell asleep. Speaking of which The Imaginarium Of Dr Parnassus is CRAZY! I fully recommend it.

On a Graphic Design note, we've been given a research brief to be getting on with for 3 weeks. I basically have to research anything about humans and space, so basically, anything! I'm actually quite looking forward to it. I've already been out drawing in town. I quite enjoy it, taking time out to just watch everyone go by is amazing. It's so relaxing. And it's really info

rmative, just watching everyone move in there own different way and body language is really interesting. Im looking forward to it dramastically (this is a new word I'm trying to bring into the English language - its a cross between drastically and dramatically).

So on friday night the lineup for our Freshers ball was announced and it turns out that tonight Zane Lowe will be doing a DJ Set which I'm really excited about because I've heard some of his mixes before and I really liked them. Stavros Flatley are also "performing", I'm not sure what to think about that. I'm sure it'll be enthralling.

Today I woke up to and had a lecture at 9 for an hour and a half on the thrilling subject of Typography, specifically printing. After sleeping post lecture for a further 2 hours I returned to Trent's art building for my first semin

ar, It was only an introductory thing but I'm content. The whole day has been a bit of a drag. I'm much more looking forward to tomorrow as tuesday is the start of my studio time, which means a new brief, i believe were starting a 3 week research brief. We'll have to see what that entails tomorrow.

But for now I can't wait to see Zane Lowe. I better go suit up. Live long.

Bit Dark innit?

Sadly my playstation controllers have both died and I'm struggling to find the cable to plug them in.... But thats enough about teenage boydom. (get it?)

After a hectic week trying to brand one of the seven deadly sins, which might i add we did very well, I had the pleasure of seeing my girlfriend who i haven't seen for 3 whole full weeks, which is the longest i've not seen her for in nearly 2 years. We walked round Nottingham and then spent the evening watching the "national treasure" that is X-Factor.

This morning I walked to the train station with my Girlfriend who then made her way back to the University Of Leicester (fancy) and then i came back to my beloved poly to continue work on my sketchbook, in which I completed a further 3 pages which i was quite happy about.

I now sit here talking to nobody, in order to have some sort of noted thought process of graphic design yet all I seem to be able to talk about is what I'm doing to waste my free time which i don't get alot of seeing as I have to colour-in for 35 hours a week. I say colour-in because it's what my girlfriend says i do. And i quite like it tbh. Yes, im going to be colouring in, for the rest of my life, and im going to be getting paid to colour in, because im really quite good at it. It feels good man.

Im constantly grateful for trying something different. Try it, you never know, you may fall in love with it like i did.

I've been at university for about a week and a half now. Which means I've completed all my induction lectures and I'm now in the midst of my first module. The first thing we've been asked to do is to brand "sloth"... That's right, as in one of the 7 deadly sins. Nevertheless we've had a good stab at it and my group and I are meeting up tomorrow to confirm which idea we are going to go with. I think we're all swaying towards the idea of branding sloth as an energy drink. As in we're combatting sloth. I think it might be a good way to go, but i could be wrong and we might end up doing something completely different.

Anyway, when i've actually produced a piece of design I will be sure to put it on here, but for now here are some nice pictures i've taken/found.

FRESH

So I'm 4 days in and so far I'm having a ball. Whether it be partying on the beach or in the trenches. It is however taking it's toll. Im in severe need of rest. I started my course today, it seems I'm going to be doing lots of work, but I'm actually looking forward to it.

This is bright man. I'd quite like a ticket.

In The Beginning...

So i guess this is the start. Im 19 and I'm starting my first year at Nottingham Trent University studying Graphic Design. Im lucking forward to getting back into design as i haven't done anything Art related in months since i completed my Art Foundation Course at the one and only Winstanley College. Which might i add was possibly the greatest year of my life and i whole heartedly recommend it to anyone and everyone. I plan on leading you through the day to day struggle of the Art Student....

This should be fun.
